This week is packed full of great musician’s birthdays! Forty Seven years ago today an ‘American Woman’ gave birth to one [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lenny Kravitz[/lastfm]! And since we are running low on birthday party funds, we decided to make one of his tunes our song of the day!
Lenny has been making great music for 23 years now and has racked up numerous awards. He set the record for most Grammy wins in one category and most consecutive years winning, when he won Best Male Rock Vocal Performance from 1999 to 2002.
The man is staying busy this year with his 9th album, ‘Black and White America’, coming this August, he has also announced he will be helping out [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]U2[/lastfm] on their North American Leg of their 360 Tour, and as of May 23, Lionsgate announced that Kravitz will be joining the cast and crew of “The Hunger Games” as Katniss’ creative stylist, Cinna.
Today’s tune is from his 2001 release, ‘Lenny’, and is titled ‘Dig In’.
